Diversity and recruiting

The #compassorange team was happy to host a #swarming evening with a focus on #diversity_recruiting .

The evening’s questions included: Is #diversity one of the current requirements for #recruiting ? Which dimensions and competences are important? And are the competences really valued in the assessment and the questions asked? What are the obstacles to be overcome in all stages of recruitment?

Thank you to Dr. Sarah Maupeu and Alaa Arar for inspiring and moderating the event, to Katrin Unger from compassorange for her contribution and to all our other partners and guests who provided and shared their expertise.

At the end of the evening we agreed that awareness of (unconscious) bias and micro-aggression, power structures and privilege needs to be raised. And that every workplace should have a culture of #diversity : Rooms where you can slow down and listen to different stories promote the ability to empathize and broaden your perspective.

Central: Openness to people with different backgrounds and different needs when it comes to finding and hiring employees and remaining attractive to them in the long term.
